Pickled Red Onions

Dress up your burger, tacos, or salad bowl with this tangy-sweet condiment. You can whip up these babies up in under 30 minutes!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 medium red onion, thinly sliced

  • ½ cup water

  • ¼ cup distilled white vinegar

  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1 ½ tablespoons honey

  • 1 ½ teaspoons sea salt

  • ¼ teaspoons red pepper flakes

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Place sliced onions into a 1-pint mason jar (one that has a lid)

  2. In a small saucepan, combine the water, vinegars, honey, salt, and red pepper flakes

  3. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Once it simmers, remove from heat.

  4. Over the jar, carefully pour the mixture over the onions

  5. Let cool to room temperature (about 20 mins)

  6. Once cooled, secure jar with lid and refrigerate. These babies will last for a good 2-3 weeks in the refrigerator!
